Self-Image & Confidence
Thinking I am unworthy, ugly or unprepared is counterproductive.
Instead: Think I am worthy, I am beautiful and prepared, I can do this. Give yourself a wink in the mirror. Only you can do this work, no one can do this for you.
Always attach an action to the thought. This is critical to changing the unwanted mindset. Thoughts remain in the spiritual realm until they are physically actualized.
Failure means that you’ve taken action. You have failed forward. This is the way life works. This is a universal law that any action moves you forward. Your thoughts create direction which you then act upon. If you don’t like where you’re moving, you must first change the thought, that will change the feeling, then you can change the action and ultimately your direction.
We are all moving forward no matter what. If you feel like you are not moving forward it is actually a product of blocked thought patterns.
There are two action steps you can take to help rewire the brain when you are experiencing conflicting thoughts.
The first method is best used when dealing with unpleasant thoughts relating to difficult circumstances like grief or loss.
This entails writing down every thought as you are thinking it. By filling up a whole sheet of paper you are draining the brain of these thoughts. When they are all out, throw the paper away. DO NOT RE-READ THIS.
The purpose of this exercise is to take the thoughts out and put them into a physical state. We do not want to reinforce these negative or damaging thoughts by re-reading them and reintroducing the ideas back into our subconscious.
The second method is best used when we are aware that our thoughts are not serving us and we need to improve them and take on a new behavior. This method is not the same as the above.
We reread and change the negative statements into a positive statement; and add an actionable and doable step.
We change the negative thoughts into positive mantras that motivate us to take action.
The goal is to become aware of our thoughts and disable the negative behavior by rewiring new thought patterns.
